FEMA Updates for KY

Kentuckians continue to show resilience in the face of severe weather, and FEMA is rolling out important updates to support recovery, strengthen preparedness, and build community resilience across the Commonwealth. Here’s what you need to know this month.

Extended Deadline: Apply for FEMA Assistance by August 22

If you were impacted by the severe storms and tornadoes on May 16–17, FEMA has extended the application deadline for assistance until August 22, 2025.

Who’s eligible?

  • Individuals and households in affected Kentucky counties (DR-4875).
  • Survivors must first file insurance claims, since FEMA assistance does not duplicate insurance.

How to apply:

  • Online: DisasterAssistance.gov
  • By phone: 1-800-621-3362 (Multilingual support available)
  • FEMA App: Download for quick access to updates and assistance tools
  • In-person: Visit a FEMA Disaster Recovery Center

Don’t wait—apply before the August 22 deadline to secure recovery support.
